Minor in Infrastructure Management and Finance

Jointly Offered by the Department of the Built Environment, Department of Real Estate and Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

There is a huge infrastructure demand in Asia and beyond. Singapore is seeking to position itself as the infrastructure hub for Asia. There are opportunities for infrastructure professionals to manage and finance these assets.

The Minor in Infrastructure Management and Finance is open to all students in NUS.

Minor Requirements

Cohort 2018/19 and before

(24 Units)

Cohort 2019/20 and onwards

(20 Units)

To be awarded a Minor in Infrastructure Management and Finance (Minor), the student must pass a minimum of 6 courses (equivalent to 24 Units) from the list below. At least 4 courses (16 Units) must be read outside a student’s own major requirements. Up to 2 courses (8 Units) may be double-counted towards the Minor and student’s own major requirements.

4 non-major courses (16 Units) + 2 major courses (8 Units) = 24 Units

  • PF1101A Project Management and Finance (replacingPF1101 Fundamentals of Project Management)
  • IPM3103 Project Finance (replacing PF2205 Project Finance; has Pre-requisite)
  • PF3305 Facilities Planning and Design
  • PF4309 Infrastructure Operations and Maintenance
  • RE2705 Urban Economics (has Pre-requisite)
  • FIN2704/FIN2704X Finance (replacing RE2706 Real Estate and Infrastructure Finance; has Pre-requisite)
  • RE3701 Real Estate Investment Analysis (has Pre-requisite)
  • RE4803 REIT and Business Trust Management (has Pre-requisite)
  • CE3121 Transportation Engineering (has Pre-requisite)
  • CE4221 Design of Land Transport Infrastructures (has Pre-requisite)

*RE2706 Real Estate Infrastructure Finance will be discontinued from AY2024/2025 onwards.
*PF1101A Project Management and Finance will be offered in place of PF1101 Fundamentals of Project Management from AY2025/26.
*IPM3103 Project Finance will be offered in placed of PF2205 from AY2025/26.
